Cllr Paul Scriven
Paul Scriven, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Sheffield Central has commented on the news that Richard Caborn MP is not to stand at the next general election. Sheffield Central is one of the key seats for the next general election. It is set to be a straight battle between Labour and the Lib Dems.
Councillor Paul Scriven, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Sheffield Central, said: -
"First of all I would like to recognise the work Mr Caborn has done in the area over the time he has been a local MP. I hope he has a happy and fulfilling time outside of the arena of politics"
"What is clear to many people and myself is that Sheffield Central doesn't just need a change of face, but it also needs a change of policy. I know that many local people are fed up of this Government's agenda on a number of key issues such as health ,education and a terrible foreign policy. Sheffield Central needs not just a new face but a fresh start with a party that offers a new and fresh vision for local people."
"The new Sheffield Central seat is going to be one of the key battlegrounds at the next general election in what experts concede will be a straight fight between Labour and the Lib Dems. Local people will have a real chance to send a clear message that they want a fresh start for Sheffield Central and an MP that will work for a fairer, free and greener Sheffield, not more of the same failed policies under Labour"
