Labour fail to reform the unfair council tax

Commenting on the Chancellors spending review Cllr Paul Scriven Lib Dem Parliamentary Spokesperson for Sheffield central, said: - "The Chancellor spent most of the budget giving tax concessions to people who will receive over £300,000 in assets. As important as the reform of Inheritance tax is, it doesn't affect those who are poorest in our society who were ignored in his statement."

"The poor allocation to local councils for the next three years that was announced, will have one effect, higher council taxes. Labour said nothing about council tax and it is those who are poorest in our city that are clobbered the hardest by this unfair and regressive tax."
