Local people have been shocked by the decision by Network Rail to ignore Sheffield in their proposals for a new high-speed rail link.
Councillor Paul Scriven, Parliamentary Campaigner for Sheffield Central, said:
"Once again it looks like Yorkshire and Sheffield will be left out when it comes to a major infrastructure project. It's like there's a hole in the map as far as rail bureaucrats are concerned.
"I will be writing to Network Rail to tell them this plan is not good enough. I urge Labour ministers to do the same."
