Paul Scriven speaks to a resident of Manor Castle ward
The campaign to elect Paul Scriven as the next MP for Sheffield Central has been boosted by knocking on 1,000 doors in a single weekend.
Volunteers for Paul's campaign knocked on doors across the constituency to ask local people if they have any issues that need dealing with - from potholes to anti-social behaviour.
Paul Scriven said:
"It's so important in an era when people are losing trust in politicians that we get out on the doorstep and listen to people. Most people I speak to are genuinely pleased that someone has come and knocked on their door and listened to what they have to say, especially a candidate to be their MP."
Paul's campaign has been deluged by an unprecedented number of new volunteers in recent weeks offering to deliver leaflets, stuff envelopes and knock on doors.
Paul added:

"I can't knock on every door myself - that's why our team of volunteers are so important to us. I'm really proud of the hard work that our volunteers put in and I'm really pleased to see that there are new people joining us to knock on doors all the time.
"With a handful of votes separating myself and Labour, it could well be the hard work on the doorstep that pushes us over the finishing line."
